Nick Makris

Nick MakrisThe evolution of photography has taken a significant number of turns since the early 1800's. Like all evolutions, continuing change is required to meet the satisfaction of the participants. We as humans, both fear and require change - it is a fact of life.

In that vein, the photographer's requirements of his work have also changed and not so differently from most evolutions. We all start with the most basic of methods and attempt to refine the process; to make it the best that it can be and to perhaps make it unique within the realm. The problem with that premise is that most of IT, has been done before. During the evolution of the photographer's work, there was the eventual realization that one has to settle on a singular point that best represents the ultimate method. All of one's training, studies, experiences, failures and successes cause that to happen irrevocably.

This eventual transition to the Platinum & Palladium images was most gratifying - the images contained herein, while comprised of many of the latest technologies, conjure a feeling of some previous era. The longevity of these types of prints is unequalled in the world of photography and promotes a sense of satisfaction absent until now.
